What to do in Calgary in One Day
If you’re spending some time in Banff National Park, odds are you’ll spend a day in Calgary at the beginning or end of your trip! Luckily, Calgary is a beautiful city with plenty of fun things and great eats to fill your day. I have compiled the perfect list of what to do in Calgary in one day below!
Where to Eat
Calgary’s food scene is seriously impressive! Here are a few of my absolute favorite spots that you won’t want to leave the city without trying.
Maven
I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant, if you only try one spot on this list, let it be this one! For breakfast (or brunch if you want to sleep in) head to Maven, they are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
This won’t be your traditional brunch spot, but this is a good thing! On the menu you’ll find dishes inspired by the chef’s different adventures from around the world. You can find a mix of sweet and savory options, such as thick cut French toast and German schnitzel. It’s a small restaurant so if you’re visiting during peak times I would recommend making reservations.

In the back of the restaurant you’ll also find a cute plant shop and coffee shop! If you’re short on time or don’t want a meal, stop but the coffee shop for a nice cup of coffee!

Native Tongue

For lunch grab some tacos at Native Tongue, a restaurant serving authentic Mexican cuisine. There are two locations in the Calgary area, both which are laid back with a fun atmosphere.
They don’t take reservations here but you can get on the waitlist online if you are visiting during peak hours. If you’re in Calgary on weekdays, they have happy hour from 2pm-5pm.
Donna Macs

For dinner head to Donna Mac, which serves lunch and dinner 7 days a week. The menu is a fusion of the chef’s upbringing with Ukrainian and French flare, with some Vietnamese notes.
You will also find a few traditional American items on the menu, so there is something for everyone. They do have a small happy hour menu everyday for 3pm-6-m.
