where to eat in Chattanooga

Chattanooga’s restaurant scene is amazing, with so many restaurants partnering with local farms and vendors, you have so many good options to choose from! These are just a few of many great restaurants in Chattanooga to try when you’re in the area.

Restaurants in Chattanooga- Breakfast

Frothy Monkey– Located in the Choo Choo complex, stop in the Frothy Monkey for some delicious coffee and pastries! If you’re not in a hurry, eat it for breakfast. The frothy is open 7 days a week from 7am-9pm & offers rotating events throughout the year, checkout their website to see what is happening during your visit.

Milk and Honey- Located on the North Shore, Milk & Honey serves brunch 7 days a week from 6am-3pm. They also have a full bar and sell house made gelato. I recommend trying the chicken & waffles or hot mess biscuit sandwich! I also can’t say better things about their vanilla bean latte & liquid gold juice!

Big Bad Breakfast- If you’re looking for a good southern breakfast head to Big Bad Breakfast. Now with two locations, one on the southside and one connected to the Lodge Cast Iron Museum. I recommend getting the Cathead Breakfast, you can’t go wrong with biscuits, fried chicken and country gravy!

Rembrandt Coffee House– for those just looking for a good cup of coffee and pastry, Rembrandts is the place to go! Voted best local coffee shop for 12 times in a row so this coffee shop is worth the visit!

Restaurants in Chattanooga-Lunch/Dinner

Mac’s Kitchen & Bar/Flora de Mel– Flora de Mel is a meadery connected to Mac’s Kitchen & Bar. Before grabbing dinner at Mac’s, first head to the meadery, for a tour and tasting! They make all their meads in house & use the honey from the 8 bee hives they have outside. Obviously that’s not enough honey to make all the mead so they source the rest of the honey from Blue Ridge, GA. After you’re tasting, settle in for a delicious dinner focused on locally sourced produce. Served family style, so order a few different plates to share and taste!

Flying Squirrel– My personal favorite in Chattanooga! If you’re looking for good vibes and good food, head over to the Flying Squirrel on the southside for dinner. With a very laid back vibe and a large outdoor patio, you’ll want to stay all night! I would recommend making reservations, especially on the weekend because this restaurant can get pretty busy. They are open M-F 5pm-9pm and stay open until 10pm on Friday and Saturdays. The food is served as family style so grab a few friends and order a variety of food to try!

Tony’s Pasta Shop and Trattoria– Tony’s is the place to go if you’re looking for some handmade pasta! The fresh made bread is to die for, you’ll want to eat a whole loaf by yourself. If you’re in the mood for a specific pasta you can make your own, choosing from a variety of pastas, sauces, and proteins!

Easy Bistro- For a more high end dinner head to Easy Bistro. Its located in the new and trendy West Village at the city center. The menu features dishes made with ingredients raised and grown at local farms. If you’re a seafood lover, be sure to stop by during their happy hour from 4-5pm everyday for bogo free oysters! Also be sure to checkout umbrella ally, a great spot for pictures, located across the street from Easy Bistro.

Taqueria Jalisco– is the perfect stop if you’re in the mood for tacos, burritos bowl or tortas! They’re closed Sunday & Monday but you can stop into either one of their locations any other day of the week! One location is at the Miller Plaza & the other is located in the Southside.

Wherever you choose to eat in Chattanooga, you won’t be disappointed!
