Attractions & Experiences

Ice Skating: In the center of Bryant Park is a large, 17,000 square foot ice skating rink. Admission is free for all, so if you have your own skate, you won’t have to pay a thing! If you don’t have ice skates, they do have rentals, starting at $18. I recommend going on weekdays or in the morning to beat the crowds.
Bumper Cars on Ice: This seasonal attraction usually runs from mid-January to late February, but dates can vary, so be sure to check their official website before planning your visit. Reservations are required in advance, so book early to secure your spot. It’s a fun twist on classic bumper cars — but on ice!
The Lodge: The Lodge is the main covered space where you can grab seasonal cocktails, beer, and food. It’s a great free spot to warm up between activities, but if you want prime seating, reservations are recommended, especially during busy weekends.
Bryant Park Cozy Igloos: For a more private experience, the Cozy Igloos are heated, enclosed spaces that you can reserve in advance. Perfect for groups or couples, they offer a unique and cozy way to enjoy drinks or snacks while staying warm. Sessions are 90 minutes and hold a maximum of 8 people. Booking ahead is essential, as they fill up quickly.
Vendors
Between trying some different food items stop in one of the numerous vendors they have. With over 100 artisan vendors you’ll find a little bit of everything, including jewelry, Christmas ornaments, hand bags, hot sauce, wall art, puzzles, apparel, and so much more!
Food at Bryant Winter Village
The Winter Village has dozens of food vendors scattered throughout the park. If you can visit multiple times, I highly recommend doing so to sample a variety of options. However, if you’re only visiting once, consider sharing dishes with your group so you can try more of what’s available! A few food vendors I recommend checking out:

1. Baked Cheese Haus
Baked Cheese Haus is a popular vendor that serves warmed raclette cheese over a toasted baguette, You can get it plain, or with meat. Both are delicious, however I preferred the plain one! It does get pretty busy so expect a wait here or arrive early to beat the crowds

2. Pasteis De Nata
They serve small pastries that are kind of like a creme brulee in a croissant. It’s unique, delicious, and definitely worth a try!

3. The Great Chestnut Experiment
Like the name suggests, they serve all things chestnuts. Including chestnog (like eggnog), chestnut bronwies, chestnut fudge, or just simple warmed chestnuts (which were soo good!)

4. Wonderen Stroopwafel
If you’ve never had a stroopwafel before, you should definitely try one at this market! They are made fresh to order, with caramel on the inside and topped with your choice of toppings.

5. Jian Bing
Jian Bing serves traditional savory Chinese crepes. They come with a variety of fillings, we tried the Korean BBQ and it was very tasty!

6. Down the Chimney
Chimney cakes are traditional Hungarian pastries that are soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. You can get just the cake or get it filled with your choice of toppings. We chose the s’mores one, and it was absolutely delicious—a perfect mix of sweet and crunchy goodness!

7. Crispy Chick
They serve chicken nuggets on a stick with 6 different combinations. We tired the street corn one and it was super delicious. Other flavors include: chicken and waffles, spicy chipotle, buffalo blue cheese, BBQ, and teriyaki.

8. Loca Donuts
These mini donuts might have been my favorite thing we had, they were that good! You choose the amount of donuts you want, then add toppings. Beware the toppings are not included in the price so if you choose a lot of topping, you will be paying $20 for 6 mini donuts (don’t make the same mistake we did). We added white chocolate, dulce de leche, oreos, and strawberries. I would recommend just the dulce de leche and strawberries, that combination was 10/10!
Vendor lineup can change from year to year, so I recommend checking the official directory before your visit.
My Tips for Visiting Bryant Park Winter Village
After visiting Bryant Park Winter Village, I have a few tips that can help you make the most of your visit.
Go earlier in the day.
The Winter Village gets much busier as the day goes on, especially around the holidays. If you want to browse the shops without feeling like you’re constantly weaving through crowds, I’d recommend going earlier in the day.
Visit on a weekday if you can.
Weekends can get especially crowded, so visiting Monday through Friday is a good option if your schedule allows. You’ll still get the full Winter Village experience without quite as many people.
Give yourself plenty of time.
It can be easy to underestimate how long you’ll want to spend here. Between browsing the holiday shops, trying different foods, taking photos, and watching people skate, I’d plan on at least a couple of hours.
Don’t fill up at one food stand.
One of my favorite parts of Winter Village was trying different foods from the vendors. Instead of getting one big meal, consider sharing a few things so you can try more than one option.
Reserve ice skating ahead of time.
While skating at Bryant Park is free if you bring your own skates, you’ll still need to reserve a time to enter the rink. If you plan on renting skates, booking ahead is even more important during busy times.
Book the igloos ahead of time.
If you’re interested in the cozy igloos, don’t wait until you arrive to see if one is available. They can book up, especially around the holidays.
Make it part of a bigger day in Midtown.
Bryant Park is in a great location for sightseeing. You can easily combine your visit with the New York Public Library, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, or other nearby attractions. If you’re only in the city for a few days, my 3-day NYC itinerary includes several nearby stops that you could easily combine with a visit to Winter Village.

Don’t feel like you have to do everything.
There are a lot of shops, food vendors, and activities packed into the Winter Village, and trying to see everything can make the experience feel rushed. Pick a few things you’re most excited about and enjoy them!
Final Thoughts on Bryant Park Winter Village
I definitely think Bryant Park Winter Village is worth visiting at least once, especially if you enjoy holiday markets and trying different foods. I loved walking around the shops, seeing all the different food options, and just taking in the festive atmosphere. There is a little bit of everything here, so even if you’re not interested in shopping, there are plenty of things to see and eat.
That said, Winter Village can get very crowded, especially closer to Christmas and on weekends. If you want to have a more relaxed experience, I’d recommend visiting earlier in the season, going on a weekday, or arriving shortly after it opens. It was much easier to walk around and actually take your time before the crowds picked up.
Overall, Bryant Park Winter Village is a fun stop to add to a New York City trip, and I’d definitely go back the next time I’m in the city during the holiday season.
