A Food Lover’s Guide to the Atlanta Christmas Market

This year the Atlanta Christmas Markets have two locations: one in Buckhead and a new addition at the Galleria on the Park. Both locations offer a variety of food vendors, unique shopping options, and plenty of holiday cheer. Keep reading for everything you need to know about the markets!

Buckhead Location

We visited the Buckhead location during its first week, on a Saturday afternoon. The place was pretty busy, but not too bad. However, as the night went on, it became packed.

It’s in a really small space, and if lines are long at the vendors, it can become difficult for others to walk around. I would recommend visiting on weekdays, if possible, to make the experience more enjoyable.

Hours

The Buckhead location is open everyday, on weekdays (M-TH) from 3:00pm -8:00pm and on the weekend from 11:00am -9:00pm.

Parking

There is a parking garage directly across the street that is $10 for the day. You can also find metered street parking around the area and pay an hourly rate.

Food Vendors to Try

Rolf’s German Brats

Rolf’s serves a variety of authentic German brats on either a regular or pretzel roll. We tried the Kaskracker Wurst (cheese brat) on a pretzel roll and it was delicious! Most of the brats are topped with sauerkraut, bacon crumbles, and crispy onions, but you can request it without.

baked cheese haus
Baked Cheese Haus

Baked Cheese Haus is a staple at most Christland Markets around the US. They serve warm raclette cheese over a crunchy French bread with your choice of prosciutto or salami. I’ve tried both the prosciutto and just plain cheese and bread and they were both pretty tasty.

One thing about this vendor is it gets really busy! You wait in one line to order your sandwich, then you choose one of the three other lines to get your sandwich – and the day we went, it was not moving fast.

Sweet Chimney Bakery

Chimney cakes are traditional Hungarian pastries that are soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside. You can get a plain cake with no filling or choose from their many options featuring ice cream and a variety of toppings.

Sweet Chimney Bakery has locations in both Buckhead and the Galleria. We tried the apple pie and coconut versions, and both were so good! There was no line when we visited the Galleria, but the cone wasn’t as fresh. At Buckhead, we waited about 10 minutes in line, but the cone was hot and you could tell it was freshly made.

Galleria on the Park Location

We’ve actually visited the Galleria on the Park twice, once on a Sunday afternoon and once on a Thursday afternoon. Sunday was a little busier but neither compared to how packed the Buckhead location was. The space is larger so everything is a bit more spread out.

The Galleria location does have a few less vendors but there is still a decent amount of places to browse.

Hours

The Galleria location is open on Thursdays from 3:00pm – 8:00pm and Friday-Sunday from 12:00pm – 8:00pm.

Parking

Parking is available on site and is $15 per car, unless you work at the Galleria, then you can park for free. You could also park in the Aker’s Mill shopping center for free but it would be a longer walk over.

Food Vendors

Lisa’s Creperie and Cafe

Lisa’s serves two savory creperies and two sweet ones. We tried the strawberry and Nutella crepe- which was pretty good! I wish the strawberries were cut a little smaller but overall it was still tasty.

Prince of Pierogi

Prince of Pierogi offers three types of pierogis: vegan mushroom, roasted pork, and cheese and potato. I tried the roasted pork and cheese and potato options. While both were tasty, the cheese and potato was my favorite! On another visit, we got the Polish sausage, topped with mustard and sauerkraut, which I highly recommend. Prince of Pierogi has a booth at both locations.

Atlanta Christmas market
Oma Margot’s

Oma Margot’s serves crispy schnitzel, red cabbage, spaetzle with gravy, and German potato salad. With the schnitzel plate you get two sides, I definitely recommend the spaetzle as one of your sides!

Is Atlanta’s Christmas Market worth the visit?

The Atlanta Christmas Markets are a fun way to celebrate the holiday season and try different food. I personally enjoyed the market at the Galleria better, even though they had less vendors. The Buckhead location is way to small for the amount of vendors and people that are there. It is still worth visiting, but for a more enjoyable experience, either go outside of peak times, or head out of the city to the Galleria location.
