Taste of Banff: Discover the Best Restaurants in Town

After a full day of exploring and hiking you’re going to be ready for a nice tasty dinner at the end of the day. Luckily, Banff has many options to choose from, so you’ll be sure to find you like. Below you’ll find some of the best restaurants in Banff, including a few places to find a sweet treat after dinner.

Sky Bistro

Located on top of Sulfur Mountain, you’ll have to take a gondola ride up to be able to eat here. Sky Bistro is one of the 2 restaurants on top of the mountain and I definitely recommend eating here! Their menu changes seasonally, as they focus on using fresh, local ingredients. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, with the incredible views from the restaurant being the cherry on top!

The Eddie Burger + Bar

If you’re in the mood for a delicious burger, look no further! Eddie Burger + Bar has the best burgers plus some really delicious sides, I recommend getting the poutine with your burger. They also sell milkshakes and fun cocktails.

 3 Bears Brewery

3 Bears Brewery is a fun spot that has two stories, the second overlooks Bear Street and is a nice spot to hangout. Their menu offers a variety of options, I recommend trying one of their pizzas, cheesy waffle fries and the bison ribs! They also have happy hour everyday from 3-5 with specials on food and drinks.

Park Distillery Restaurant + Bar

Park Distillery is a restaurant and working distillery in downtown Banff! They offer a variety of cocktails and spirits and a range of food options. It is located on the main strip of Banff, with garage doors that stay open so you still feel connected to the outdoors.

The Elk & Oarsman

We didn’t personally make it to this restaurant but it was on our list! If you are looking for a roof top bar/restaurant The Elk & Oarsman is the place to be. It offers 360 views from the roof and the menu has typical pub food with a Canadian flair.

Farm & Fire

Farm & Fire is a good spot to grab brunch! They serve brunch daily from 8:00am to 2:00pm and dinner from 4:00pm-9:00pm on weekday and until 10:00pm on weekends. They focused on using locally sourced ingredients and wood fire cooking techniques.

Fergus & Bix

While it’s not located in Banff, it’s just 20 minutes outside of Banff located in Canmore. Canmore is a cute town that’s less crowded than Banff. There are also a few trails in that area so you may find yourself in Canmore one day. If that ends up being the case, definitely checkout Fergus & Bix! It’s a laid back spot, serving pizza, burgers, sandwiches and other items. They are open for lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends.

Whitebark Cafe

If you’re looking for a tasty cup of coffee, stop by Whitebark Cafe! They have been voted  ‘Best of the Bow: Coffee’ for several years and I could see why when I visited it! I recommend enjoying your coffee and baked goods on the patio if the weather permits, as you’ll have great views of the surrounding mountains.

Beaver Tail

You can’t leave Banff without getting a Beaver Tail at least once! Beaver tails are a delicious Canadian pastry. It is essentially fried dough topped with your choice of toppings and/or ice cream. I definitely recommend trying the nutella and apple pie toppings! There are two locations in Banff and one in Canmore.

COWS

Depending on the time of year you visit you might not want ice cream (specifically if you visit in the winter) but if you’re summer definitely stop by COWS for some delicious ice cream! They have 32+ flavors that are all Charlottetown, Canada then shipped to their stores. The line can be long but it does move pretty fast so don’t let that deter you.
